Biography

  Elisabeth Hale is a violinist residing in the greater Houston area. Mrs. Hale holds a masters degree in Violin Performance (summa cum laude) from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (Cincinnati, Ohio). She also graduated summa cum laude from Lee University with double major in Violin Performance and Music Education. Hale has performed for three current and former Presidents, with musicians such as Josh Groban, Matt Reviere (Carrie Underwood’s lead guitarist), and many others. 

  Hale has performed internationally in Italy, Japan, England, Uganda, and Kenya.  She has studied violin with Xiaoqing Yu, Piotr Milewski, Penney Adair, chamber music with Yehuda Hanani, Lee Fiser, and Sin-Hsing Tsai, orchestral excerpts with Gabe Pegis, and participated in master classes with Ani Kavafian, Ida Kavafian, and Peter Serkin. Hale has been teaching privately since the age of 16 and holds Suzuki certification from the Suzuki Association of the Americas. 

 

  For the last 9 years, she has served as a Director of Orchestras at Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Texas (5 years as Assistant Director with Dr. Christopher Reidlinger and 4 years in the role of Head Director).  During her 9-year tenure at Kingwood HS, all string and full orchestras made Grand Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading, the highest possible ratings in UIL.  Her orchestras have been selected to perform at the Midwest Clinic, the American String Teachers Association, and many other events.  During her last year at Kingwood, 73 students from the KHS Orchestra program were selected for TMEA Region 33 Orchestras - the highest number of students selected from any school in the region, and an all-time record for the Kingwood campus. Mrs. Hale is an active clinician and adjudicator in the Houston area. 

 

  Hale has also been on the faculty of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's Preparatory Department, the University of Northern Kentucky's School of Music Preparatory Department, and the Music Academy in Rockford, Illinois.  During undergraduate, she began playing on contract with the Symphony Orchestra Augusta in Augusta, GA., and also began performing with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

 

  Avidly interested in musicology, Hale has studied the works of Claudio Monteverdi with Dr. Massimo Ossi of Indiana University. She is a member of the Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities Society, Pi Kappa Lambda, Alpha Chi, and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies.  Mrs. Hale also served for 7 years as the TMEA Region 33 Secretary.  

Hale resides in the greater Houston area with her husband, Alan and children Rosalynne, Brannon, and Ingrid.
